MUSCATINE, Iowa--On December 14, 2012, in Muscatine County District Court:Joey Gonzales of Muscatine, was sentenced for the offense of Sex Offender Registry Violation, Second or Subsequent Offense. The Court imposed a sentence of incarceration for a term not to exceed five years and a fine of $750. He was arrested after an investigation by the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office showed that Gonzales had failed to update his registration information. Gonzales had three prior convictions for this offense.

Jeremy Ellis Newberry of Muscatine, pled guilty to the offense of Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse. Investigation by the Muscatine Police Department showed that he had performed a sex act against a thirteen year old child. He will be sentenced February 1, 2013, at 9:30 a.m.

Joseph Axtell of Muscatine, was sentenced for the offense of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. The Court imposed a sentence of incarceration for a term not to exceed two years and a fine of $625. Axtell was arrested by the Muscatine Police Department after an investigation showed that he had damaged a motor vehicle. Axtell had several arrests prior to his arrest in this case which resulted in the recommendation of a prison sentence.

Diana Lee Rick of Muscatine was sentenced for the offense of Burglary in the Third Degree. The Court granted a deferred judgment and placed Rick on supervised probation. Rick was arrested by the Muscatine County Sheriff's Department after an investigation showed that she had been involved in a residential burglary.

Kevin Ralph Koberg of Stockton, pled guilty and was sentenced for the offense of Child Endangerment. Koberg  received a deferred judgment and was placed on supervised probation for a period of two years. Investigation by the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office showed that he had intentionally used unreasonable force against his child.
